Unusual Scholarships for Agriculture from AJCA
If you’re planning to go to college and get a degree in agriculture, consider the unusual scholarships in agriculture offered from the American Jersey Cattle Association (AJCA). Majoring in agriculture today is a lot more specialized than you could even imagine. There’s the matter of choosing what kind of agriculture you’re planning to pursue. The agricultural field is so vast, that choosing a particular area of interest, can prove to be challanging. The good news is, whether it’s cotton, dairy, or livestock, there are a number of unique agriculture scholarships for students just like you!
American farmers are serious about their livestock, and the National Jersey Youth Scholarships prove this easily. This scholarships foundation awards over $10,000 in cattle scholarships for agriculture students each year. Whether you’re a college freshman or planning to enroll in graduate school, the American Jersey Cattle Association (AJCA) offers plenty of chances to earn money for college.
If you have previous experience with Jersey cattle, don’t miss out on your chance to win this valuable scholarships money. You do have to be a junior member or lifetime member of the Jersey Cattle Association to apply for these agriculture scholarships, though. In addition, you have to have a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for these unique awards.
Each of the cattle scholarships for agriculture students offered by the association is a little different, and each offers students a unique opportunity to excel. For example, the Jack C. Nisbet agricultural scholarship is offered only to students who have already been nominated for the Cattle Association’s National Jersey Youth Achievement Contest. All other applicants will be rejected.
If you’re interested in obtaining a veterinarian degree specializing in large animals, or the production, marketing, or manufacturing of dairy products, the Cedarcrest Farms Scholarship was founded just for you. This unique scholarship for agriculture students is open to both undergraduate and graduate students seeking degrees in these fields from an accredited university in the United States.
If you’ve already completed some of your studies in these fields, or are working toward a degree in animal science, the Russell-Malnati Scholarship for Advanced Students is designed just for you. This scholarship in agriculture is also available to graduate students who are working toward degrees in the same fields.
Another of the scholarships for agriculture students that may interest you is The Reuben R. Cowles Youth Award. Don’t apply for this scholarship, though, unless you are a resident of Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee, or South Carolina though. Only students from these states are eligible to receive this scholarship for agriculture.
The deadline for most of these AJCA agriculture scholarships is July 1st of the year in which the Ag scholarship will be used. Applications aren’t available until April 15th, but you can start getting your transcripts together and research the requirements for each of these cattle scholarships in agriculture.
When the applications are available, you can get started and submit yours early so you won’t have to worry about missing the deadline for these unique agricultural scholarships from AJCA. You certainly wouldn’t want one of these valuable unusual and unknown agricultural scholarships to go unclaimed!
